Resident Evil is a 2026 horror film directed by Zach Cregger and written by Cregger and Shay Hatten, based on the Resident Evil video game franchise by Capcom. It follows Bryan (Austin Abrams), a young medical courier who must fight through an outbreak of infected monsters in Raccoon City. Zach Cherry, Kali Reis, and Paul Walter Hauser feature in supporting roles.

Medical courier Bryan agrees to take a mysterious time-sensitive package to Raccoon General Hospital in Raccoon City, Colorado. On the way, Bryan and his girlfriend Michelle argue over her pregnancy, and he accidentally hits a woman crossing the road. Bryan takes the injured, catatonic woman to his car, but Deputy Sheriff Wilson pulls him over, takes the woman, and tells Bryan to follow him. The cruiser suddenly swerves and crashes, killing Wilson. The woman attacks Bryan, who shoots her with Wilson’s gun.
